Ensure the quality of your products

Used nowadays in a variety of areas and applications, metal components must withstand extreme loads. Semi-finished products that are rolled, cast or processed into bars and billets or are flat materials such as heavy and thick plates and strips for safety-critical assets are important for production in many industries - they must be flawless.

To guarantee production efficiency and high safety requirements, product-critical materials must be inspected thoroughly and accurately. Visual inspection is generally not sufficient to detect internal defects. Latest inspection technologies with full industrial interfaces enable future-proof and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and inspection capability. We integrate our inspection solutions seamlessly into your production processes to support you in finding the smallest defects.

Compliance with high quality standards

Since we manufacture a wide range of products ourselves, we are aware of the high quality standards that must be met when manufacturing products. Depending on material quality and end use, specifications for defects can be in the sub-millimeter range. On the other hand, alloys and processes determine complex inspection scenarios, such as coarse grains, inhomogeneous microstructures or elongations. Valuable solutions are characterized by the optimal design of all key components, from sensors to data evaluation, from mechanics to electrical equipment, from humans to machines.

Material Quality

Non-destructive testing methodologies are required to ensure reliable quality in the steel manufacturing and processing industries. Among other things, steel hardness is nowadays another important overall quality characteristic. A false hardness in a component may result in total failure of high-value final assets, such as pipelines. Monitoring hardness during each critical phase of the component manufacturing process is a crucial quality measure in modern steel mills.

Regulations & Compliance

The inspections can be carried out in compliance with all common standards and regulations relevant in an industrial context. These include, for example, specifications from SAE-AMS2145, SAE-AMS-2630 or ASTM B594 for ultrasound inspection of steel and metal products. For larger billets, typical forged part inspection specifications, such as EN10228-3, or for casted parts inspection specifications, such as EN12680, can be applied. In addition, all our systems follow the guidelines of the European Machine Directive 2006/42/EC and, wherever applicable, the appropriate local guidelines.

The international quality norms and standards (such as ASTM A 435, EN 10160, ISO 17577, JB 4730 etc.) in the steel industry and rolling mills have become stricter in recent years. In order to detect deviations from the standards and flaws in the materials produced, suitable inspection solutions must be integrated as early as possible into the manufacturing process. This ensures that quality standards are met and costs are minimized.

In addition to meeting the quality standards for the inspection of the products, quality and safety standards for the system itself must also be met without compromise and without affecting the operators and the environment. All systems must meet the requirements of the applicable machine directives, in particular Machine Directive 2006/42/EG. This directive makes the assessment of safety-related systems and applications mandatory for plant and machine manufacturers and sets a very high European standard for the design and operation of machinery.
