Innovation Square for the high-tech solutions of the future

Rosenxt starts construction of new site in Wietmarschen-Lohne

Lingen, May 28th 2024 - The future holds great challenges for society in many areas. The people behind Rosenxt are convinced that the potential for sustainable solutions already exists. They are driven by a passion for technology. The company looks far into the future, trying to identify tomorrow's market needs today and turn them into market-leading products and services. At the new Rosenxt site, a wide range of futuristic topics are researched, developed and implemented: The latest technologies are implemented in advanced solutions for the harshest and most demanding environments, such as underwater, industrial manufacturing, renewable energy, and critical infrastructure inspection and safety.

In the future, the expertise and research environment will be concentrated in the “Grafschaft Bentheim”:  Rosenxt is building the new Innovation Square on an area of 110,000 square meters in Wietmarschen-Lohne in the industrial park on the A 31.  Several building complexes will provide the ideal conditions for the various teams to work together. Six office and workshop buildings, where innovative research and implementation go hand in hand, a light-flooded central building with an atrium, a canteen overlooking the water and a separate kindergarten are all part of the well-thought-out plan. An inviting reception building with a lounge for visitors will lead from Lanzstrasse to the Innovation Square.

The new site will initially accommodate 700 employees. The first buildings are due to be occupied in the second half of 2025. Following a selection process, two Lingen-based architectural firms won the competition with their designs (Gelze Architekten PartG mbB for the central building and reception building; UNFORM Architekten Part GmbB for the canteen and kindergarten). Based on these designs, Exeler GmbH is responsible for the planning and realisation of the six office and workshop buildings, as well as construction and project management.

Architecture that creates space for both collaboration and individual retreat

On Monday, Hermann Rosen personally turned the first sod with the excavator. This marked the official opening of the site. Together with representatives of the district, the municipality of Wietmarschen and the surrounding companies, as well as employees of Rosenxt and the ROSEN Group, the construction project was presented and enthusiasm for the architecture of the entire complex and the investment in the region was generated.

Innovation Square is a long-term investment in research and development. It combines different ideas and approaches to create an optimal working environment. The result is an architecture that creates space for both collaboration and individual retreat, focusing on the creativity and productivity of the teams. "With our new location in Wietmarschen-Lohne, we are not just creating a new place to work - we are building a home where we can foster our corporate culture, which strikes a balance between performance and shared fun, and places teamwork and mutual trust at the centre," says General Manager Dirk van Vinckenroye, explaining the core of the still young corporate culture.

As a technology group, Rosenxt also sees the construction project at the new site as an investment in a sustainable future. On the one hand, regarding the construction project itself, because in addition to the mandatory installation of solar panels on roofs and car parks, the group is investing in the use of so-called "cold local heating". This is a new concept in low-emission heating, based on the use of environmental heat sources, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to conventional heating. It also has a positive impact on the region. Nancy Terwey, Chief Human Resources Officer, sees the affordable living space as a key advantage over other high-tech locations such as the city of Munich. "With its established structures and green surroundings, the region is an ideal place for families in particular. In addition, the cooperation with colleges and universities such as Osnabrück and Enschede offers talented young people the opportunity to contribute ideas for the future in the region. In this way, we create not only jobs, but also prospects - for skilled workers and young people.

Hermann Rosen, chairman of the board, also had this motivation: "Many people ask me why I am building a new company at my age. Instead of sailing around the world in stages, I have decided to make another contribution to society by continuing to create highly skilled jobs. This is both challenging and exciting, especially when you are breaking new ground. We see very challenging technological market opportunities for the future and we have the means to realise them in the long term. Some of the products and services that Hermann Rosen and his engineers and physicists have developed over the past ten years are already close to market. Working together with employees to use the latest technologies to develop successful, sustainable solutions for today's challenging future issues, "that's what motivates me," says Hermann Rosen.
